Canadian Nurses Association Executive Director Available to Respond to 2004 Federal Budget

WHO: Executive Director Lucille Auffrey , Canadian Nurses Association

WHAT: Ms. Auffrey is available to provide the nursing perspective on the federal budget.

WHEN: Tuesday, March 23 starting at approximately 16:30 and on Wednesday, March 24.

WHERE: By telephone or in person for Ottawa-based media.

WHY: Nurses represent the largest group of health care providers in Canada. They play a vital role in the health system and in health system renewal.

CNA is looking for funding commitments related to strengthening the public health system, as outlined last month in the Speech from the Throne.

The CNA will also be looking at how this federal budget will contribute to improvements at the bedside.
