Selma Hussein, currently working at the Toronto General Hospital, loves nursing and finds her role internally rewarding. When she gets up in the morning and goes to work, she feels proud to know her thoughts and actions will make a difference in others’ lives. Selma advocates, empowers, educates and advises her patients. She laughs, listens, and cries with them, too. She seeks to provide care that is rich with kindness, calmness and compassion. When Selma returns to her native land of Somalia, she volunteers her time and helps nurses who are miles away.
