Brenda Childs currently works in a rehab unit where most clients are seniors who are working at returning to their home following stroke or injury. My love is nursing and my passion is teamwork. I am so blessed to work with a team that shares information and collaborates well as a team in working toward the best possible outcome for our clients. Brenda comments: “I am a strong believer in sharing knowledge and want to be the kind of nurse I would want to have caring for my loved one. The Licensed Practical Nurses Association of B.C. has provided me another place to advocate for my profession and my place on the nursing team. In both of these worlds, the world of providing care and the world of advocacy, I feel empowered as a practical nurse, and I feel I have made a small difference in the lives of the people I touch.” Brenda has been a dedicated licensed practical nurse (LPN) leader through her union and LPN association for over five years.
