Donna Dewar, MBA, PMP
Donna Dewar is a certified project management professional (PMP) with over 20 years’ experience in the non-profit sector. In her current role at CNA, as chief operating officer, Donna is responsible for the association’s corporate planning and governance framework, including corporate planning processes, performance measurement of the corporate plans and risk management across the organization. Previously, she held positions as the chief of innovation and engagement and director of information technology and project management. She was also the project manager for the National Expert Commission, after having made significant contributions to the launch of several CNA online initiatives.
Before joining CNA, Donna was the director of web and enterprise application services for the Canadian Red Cross, where she was responsible for modernizing enterprise applications, national and regional websites, online public affairs communications and the donations platform. She has also overseen a number of new media initiatives, including Health Canada’s “Go Smoke Free” campaign and volunteered as executive director at DigitalEve (Ottawa), a program encouraging others, particularly women, to embrace the internet and emerging digital technologies.
Donna has a master’s in business administration with a specialty stream in Innovation Leadership from the University of Fredericton. She also holds her PMP Professional Designation and ITIL foundations certification.
