Canada-South Africa Nurses HIV/AIDS Initiative (2003-2008) [PDF, 1.1 MB] — CNA and the Democratic Nurses Organization of South Africa implemented this initiative from 2003 to 2008 with funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The overall objective was to support nurses in South Africa to contribute to health and health care of those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS by increasing nurses’ capacity to deliver high-quality, improved HIV/AIDS services that are gender sensitive.

Ethiopian Nurses and Needle Stick Injury Research Project (2006-2008) — To strengthen existing partnerships in order to address HIV/AIDS priority issues in Ethiopia, CNA and the Ethiopian Nurses Association received funding from CIDA for a collaborative project involving the expertise of the Zambia Nurses Association and the Canadian Association of Nurses in AIDS Care.

Canada-Russia Initiative in Nursing (2004-2008) — In partnership with Grant MacEwan College and Capital Health (Edmonton), and funded by CIDA, CNA implemented a four-year project to strengthen the capacity of the Russian Ministry of Health and the Russian Nurses Association for creating conceptual, regulatory, organizational and educational frameworks.
