Nursing’s blueprint for health-care transformation featured at HealthAchieve conference

Ottawa, Monday, November 5, 2012 — Barb Mildon, president of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), is presenting at the 2012 HealthAchieve conference in Toronto this week. As part of the nursing leadership session’s panel, Mildon will present recommendations from CNA’s independent National Expert Commission and Canada’s nursing community. The commission’s final report, A Nursing Call to Action, sets out recommendations to drive Canada through a fundamental shift in the way health and health care is funded, managed and delivered. The report is the first of its kind in that it was spearheaded by Canada’s registered nurses, the largest group of health-care professionals in the country.

One of the largest and most prestigious health-care gatherings in North America, HealthAchieve aims to inspire ideas and innovation with over 50 informative and engaging educational sessions along with an award-winning exhibit floor, where close to 300 exhibitors will showcase the latest health-care products, services and technologies. HealthAchieve attracts more than 6,500 health-care and business leaders from around the world for learning, networking, benchmarking and sharing best practices.
