ET Nurses Week – April 10 to 16
Enterostomal therapy (ET) nurses are recognized as nursing specialists in wound, ostomy and continence through their CNA certification. As part of an interprofessional team, an ET nurse provides specialized holistic assessment and management to meet the needs of those with ostomies, acute and chronic wounds and urinary and fecal continence problems.
The Canadian Association for Enterostomal Therapy (CAET) provides excellent education opportunities through the CAET Academy, which include the CAET Enterostomal Therapy Nurse Education Program and the CAET Knowledge 2 Practice Competency Builders Program. Courses are designed to start either in January/September or in any month that’s convenient, through a rolling entry process.
