Geneva, Switzerland; 1 September 2022 – Registration for the International Council of Nurses (ICN) 2023 Congress opened today along with abstract submission and the Congress website!
ICN 2023 will be held in person, 1-5 July 2023, at the Palais de Congrès, Montreal, Canada in partnership with the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA). The 2023 Congress theme is “Nurses together: a force for global health”.
ICN 2023 will bring together nurses’ renewed strength and energy to make a difference. It will look at how we can build on the lessons learned from the pandemic, to protect nurses’ rights, decent working conditions and salaries, to drive nursing leadership and respect for the profession, and a have greater impact on health policies at all levels.
ICN Chief Executive Officer Howard Catton said:
“Today we kick off the Congress with the opening of registration and abstract submission, and the launch of our Congress website! We look forward to welcoming nurses across the globe to our 2023 Congress where we will examine many important topics such as nursing leadership, emergency and disaster management, regulation, education, advanced practice nursing roles, sustaining and retaining the nursing workforce, strengthening healthcare systems, and promoting health communities and quality healthcare.
The Congress will give us the opportunity to hear from the world’s leading experts and show the impact of the largest healthcare workforce! The event will also highlight the importance of unity, solidarity and collaboration as we come together as a force for global health!”

“CNA is excited that registration and abstract submissions for ICN 2023 are now officially open! This is the third time that Canada will host an ICN congress, and we are looking forward to welcoming nurses from around the world to Montreal to discuss important topics for the profession, teach, learn, network, and celebrate together the best of global nursing.”
