Portfolio-based Certification Application

Portfolio-based Certification Application

The CNA Certification Program offers portfolio-based applications for nurses working in some specialty areas.

What is a portfolio-based certification?

Our portfolio-based path to CNA certification focuses on your professional growth and learning. It allows you to demonstrate your competencies by showcasing a collection of your work, including case studies, continuing education, and professional contributions.

How does a portfolio-based application work?

The CNA Certification Program will provide you with an online platform to present your nursing portfolio, reflecting your expertise and dedication in the field. Using a universal design for learning (UDL) approach, you’ll receive feedback from experienced professionals in your specialty.

Your portfolio will be carefully evaluated. If it meets our stringent standards, you will be awarded certification and have the right to use the CNA credential in your title. If you are not successful, you will receive constructive feedback, helping you to refine your skills and broaden your understanding. You will be able to make changes to your application to meet the requirements or youwill be able to reapply for certification at a later date.

Key benefits of portfolio-based applications:

  • Recognition: Showcase your skills, knowledge, and experiences in highly specialized areas of nursing practice.
  • Professional growth: Reflect on your learning journey, identify your strengths, and plan your future development.
  • Credibility: Enjoy the enhanced professional credibility that you have earned, because CNA certification is a nationally recognized demonstration of your competencies.
